Join The AfriChild Centre & Care and Protection of Children – CPC Learning Network today September 17th at 4:00 PM EAT (Kampala)/ 9:00 AM EDT (New York) as we revisit with a COVID-19 lens the existing and new challenges children in residential care institutions (RCI) in Uganda are facing.
In 2017, researchers from AfriChild Centre and CPC Learning Network expanded on the national violence against children survey by conducting a qualitative study of risk and protective factors in RCIs in Uganda. Child welfare advocates and a researcher involved with the study will discuss results and recommendations on moving away from RCIs and towards family-based care for the most vulnerable in our communities.
Panelists: Clare Bangirana, Director of Knowledge and Research @AfriChildDorah Musiimire, Child Protection Specialist, ChildFund Barbra Aber, Technical Advisor Catholic Relief Services
